Eligibility Criteria for Teaching Positions at KWASUED 2025/2026

Candidates applying for Senior Lecturer, Lecturer I, Lecturer II, Assistant Lecturer, etc, at Kwara State University of Education, must ensure that they meet the following qualifications and requirements before applying.

  • Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 05): Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in the relevant field of education and have a minimum of six years of teaching experience. In addition, they should have a minimum of 15 scholarly publications in reputable journals and must demonstrate experience in research supervision, particularly at the master’s level.
  • Lecturer I (CONUASS 04): Applicants are required to possess a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline, with at least eight scholarly publications and a minimum of four years of teaching experience.
  • Lecturer II (CONUASS 03): Candidates should hold a Ph.D. and have a minimum of four publications in recognized journals, along with three years of teaching experience.
  • Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 02): Applicants must have a Master’s degree in the relevant field with a Ph.D. grade and show evidence of potential for a successful academic career.
  • Librarian I & II (CONUASS 03 & 02): Candidates must possess first and master’s degrees in Library and Information Science, demonstrate relevant work experience or research potential, and have publications as specified for the rank.

Procurement Unit:

  • Senior Procurement Officer: First degree in Purchasing & Supply, Marketing, Business Administration, or Economics, three years’ relevant experience, ICT proficiency.

Information/Protocol Unit:

  • Information/Protocol Officer: B.A. degree in Mass Communication or English, with a Master’s in a relevant field, and ICT proficiency.

Legal Unit:

  • Legal Officer I: L.L.B and B.L, ICT proficiency.

Works/Physical Planning:

  • Engineer I: Master’s in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, three years’ experience, ICT proficiency.
  • Pupil Architect I: Master’s in Architecture, ARCON registration, three years’ experience, ICT proficiency.
  • Quantity Surveyor: First degree in Quantity Surveying, three years’ experience, ICT proficiency, QSRBN membership.

Science Laboratory:

  • Higher Laboratory Technologist: B.Sc or HND in Laboratory Technology, NISLT membership.

ICT Unit:

  • Computer Electronics Engineer II: First degree in Electrical/Electronic or Computer Engineering, COREN registration, ICT proficiency.
  • Systems Programmer/Analyst II: B.Sc in Computer Science, ICT proficiency, experience in programming or systems analysis.

Clinic:

  • Senior Nursing Officer: B.Sc Nursing, five years’ experience, ICT proficiency, and evidence of registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Staff Nurse: SSCE/GCE/WAEC with at least five credits, including English and Mathematics, plus NRN/NRM/SCM registration as applicable.

Academic Planning Unit:

  • Planning Officer II: First degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Educational Management with a bias in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics, ICT proficiency.
